cattle

"in order for a cattle breeder of any level to improve the suitability and profitability of his customers herd he must run the cattle in a system that is as tough or tougher than theirs. the cattle breeder is in a position of responsibility that must not be shirked. His responsibility lies within furthering the breed and strengthening his customers herd."

no pampering

Our cattle are expected to wean a marketable calf every year on forage only  no excuses. if she does not she moves on. we are tough on our cattle and we see it as our responsibility to build resiliency and sustainability into the u.s. cow herd.

Grass genetics

The majority of our cattle are crosses of Devon, red Angus, south poll and Hereford. We select cattle based on their ability to function in our environment with little inputs. Our selection criteria tend to favor a moderate framed, red hided cow that produce offspring that have the ability to fatten on forage alone.
