Hair Sheep

Grass, water, salt and thoughtful management are all the ingredients that go into our sheep. the foundational ewes were purchased from renowned grazer Greg Judy in 2012. our years of heavy culling and careful selection has resulted in a ewe that requires no worming or hoof trimming, that lambs unassisted on pasture and weans an average of 1.7 lambs per ewe exposed. all stock is rotationaly grazed and is trained to two strands of poly-wire. We have extremely high expectations of our ewes and are very proud of what we are acheaving.

Breeding

our cross breed ewes are comprised of primarily st croix with some katahdin and Barbados mixed in. we select for fertility, survivability and profitability first, with appearance and color second. Form follows function

lambing

All lambing is done directly on pasture starting mid may. We only lamb once per year and lambs are primarily sold in the late summer/fall. Lambs are usually only handled one time before sale for tagging/ castrating.

replacement quality ewe lambs and sire prospect ram lambs are available from September until sold out.  Please contact with any requests, we might have what your looking for out of season and we love talking sheep.
